Spinnova becomes a mentor for Cuitu
We are honoured to announce that Spinnova Ltd has become a mentor for Cuitu. Spinnova is a Finnish technology company that develops the most sustainable fibre in the world. Spinnova has a disruptive, ecological innovation that turns cellulose and waste streams into textile fibre simply, without dissolving or any harmful chemicals.
Cuitu visited Spinnova last spring and soon noticed that both companies share the same values; we want to make the textile industry much more sustainable. Spinnova also saw potential in us.
– We’re seeing a number of startups with a similar cause at the moment, all wanting to create sustainable choices for like-minded consumers. Sustainable is not niche anymore, but the new cool. We can’t wait to see where Cuitu’s journey will take them, says Head of Communications Emmi Berlin from Spinnova.
– This cooperation means a lot to us. It was actually Spinnova and their material technology that inspired us to start this business in the first place. We see that there is a lot of potential in Spinnova’s technology and we want to create value for them as well, says Evi Oivanen from Cuitu.
As a more experienced growth company in the same industry, Spinnova will now mentor Cuitu and provide us valuable knowledge. With the youthful design thinking of Cuitu, we can bring the ecological materials alive and to the awareness of consumers.
It is great to notice that people in this industry are open for cooperation. The situation in the textile industry is alarming and it takes more than one company to change it.
